I joined the Department of Information and System Security (ISS), Philips Research Lab in July 2008. I am currently working on the DRM Standardisation project.

My research interests include policy-based management, security, authentication, trust for wireless sensor networks and security protocol design

I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the
Distributed Software Engineering (DSE) Group, Department of Computing, Imperial College London from Oct 05 to May 08. I graduated with a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in August 2000.  From 2001 to 2005, I was a Ph.D. student at Imperial College London.

IBM Podcast

My podcast interview with IBM entitled "Why your wireless network needs a security policy" is now available. I talk about the need for a policy-based approach to help make the wireless computing environment manageable and secure. This is the 5th in a series of conversations with visiting computing scientists at IBM. More>>

Project Title: Learning Security Policies through Behavioural Modelling

The main goal of this project is to facilitate adaptive user behaviour through policy learning without requiring the user to specify policies himself. In most cases, the user wouldn't know how she will react in certain events/requests a priori, therefore dynamically creating policies based on the user actions can autonomously guide the user's future behaviour. The main application domains of this research are related to secure heathcare applications and privacy preserving lifestyle applications. More>>

My joint paper with my ex-bosses in Imperial College - "Securing Body Sensor Networks: Sensor Association and Key Management" has been accepted as a "concise contribution" in PerCom 2009. The conference will be held in Galveston, Texas, USA from 9 - 15 March.

1 Year at Philips Research

Jul 2009

It's been a year since I started working for Philips Research in Eindhoven. Time flies, and it occurs to me that I only have one year left working in this peaceful city - Eindhoven. The Philips Town Hall meeting which was held a few months ago has inspired me to work harder! With the strong and determined direction from the the top management, we believe that we'll pull through this economic crisis and come out as a stronger company.

I am still working on Digital Rights Management (DRM) Standardisation - Marlin Technology, dealing with requirements gathering, deployment architecture and integration of DRM technologies with Home Network. I had the priviledge to travel to different countries to attend meetings, e.g., Japan, Korea, and US.

Dancesport Training, Eindhoven

Feb 2009
Found a partner in Eindhoven, and we train in a dance school called DanceMasters Verspaandonk. Competition trainings are held on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evening. At the moment, I am doing my own chereography with the consultation from the head teacher (the owner of the dance school), as our previous dance coach has some family issues. We are planning to start competing soon, possibly in March or April 2009.
